An overwhelming majority of prospective students for Online Degree programs would be those who desire to take up their further education while being in some occupation /job /profession. Hence cannot enroll for a regular conventional college. Since the desire is to pursue a program in the Online mode, the search for it is also overwhelmingly through the Online mode.

And when searching through online search engines (e.g. google), the search results show up a plethora of options – which are individual websites of H.E.I.s and /or their Online Learning departments. And over and above this, there are some other private institutes too which show up in the search – who are either offering some private courses or could be offering un-recognized degrees.

In such a scenario of the search results, following are some of the problems that a prospective student of Online Degree program encounters:

  1. Difficulty in identifying which option is recognized and which one is not.
  2. Even if one does identify a recognized option, there is no tool to compare it with other options.Because the search shows up individual University websites.
  3. Further, even if a prospective student does the hard work of manually noting down the details of a few options, there is no way that the student can get guidance as what are the parameters that need to be considered while making a choice.
