SVKM’s NMIMS was founded in 1981 and by 2003, was awarded the ‘Deemed-to-be-University’ status. However, by 1994, it had become clear that the youth of urban and rural India were looking for quality education, which would supplement their professional career without them having to attend traditional classroom-based courses. This insight marked the birth of NMIMS Centre for Distance & Online Education (CDOE), an establishment with a core focus on open and distance learning. Thus, a merger between technology and academic prowess created a more student-centric platform.

UGC Graded Autonomy: SVKM’s NMIMS is one of the few Universities that have been granted Category I status Graded Autonomy by UGC.
Technology: The dedicated student portal is accessible via the web as well as the mobile app, enabling students to truly experience a culture of ‘Learn from Anywhere’. The student mobile app is available across both Android and IOS devices.
